Bandshell Concert Series presents: The Northern Lights Steel Orchestra-- from 7:00 to 9:00 PM to -- Peace Park: Pelham Town Square
The Northern Lights Steel Orchestra's rephrasing of "Caribbean steel band" to "steel orchestra" seems petty until an event with a "tropical party theme" invites us for the featured entertainment, and we mix a few calypso tunes into a three and a half hour repertoire as diverse as modern fusion and inspirational genius allow. With the aspirations of an orchestra and the intentions of pioneers, we're still struggling to find a word or phrase that defines our sound.
